Bitmain develops new, more efficient 7nm chip for Antminer S17 and T17

Bitmain Antminer Bitcoin Miners Review | S17 vs S17 Pro vs T17 | Bitcoin Mining Profitability!

Bitmain announced the development of a new, more energy efficient 7nm ASIC for mining cryptocurrencies with the SHA256 PoW algorithm.

The Chinese manufacturer claims that the new integrated microcircuit BM1397 will consume 28.6% less power compared to the previous version. Thanks to the changes in the architecture and optimization of the chip, its average performance will be 30 J / TH. Reducing power consumption will significantly increase the profitability of mining Bitcoin (BTC), Bitcoin Cash (BCH) and other coins based on SHA256.

Bitmain also announced that BM1397 will be the basis for the next generation of Antminer S17 and Antminer T17 ASICs. New models due later this year.

Just a few months ago, the manufacturer unveiled its Antminer S15 and T15, but due to the market crash, they were not as popular as expected. This led to colossal losses for Bitmain, which, according to some estimates, amount to $ 500 million. The deterioration in financial performance led to staff cuts, the closure of research units and implementation of other anti-crisis management measures. Therefore, now all the forces of the company are aimed at creating more advanced devices., which will help stabilize the work of the company.

Last year, the manufacturer also introduced hardware for Ethereum mining, but after February 27, it will become useless.
